Abstract
Professor Enrique Alarcón, of the University of Navarra, is the driving force and architect of the project "Corpus Thomisticum". In his paper he explains the origins of the project, on the basis of the Index Thomisticus Edition on CD ROM by Roberto Busa. He describes how the edition of the Opera omnia has been developed, and also the successive improvements that have been progressively added, thoroughly presenting the origin of each edition. As it could be expected in a project of such a scale, he brings us closer to other elements of study that have been incorporated to the project, many of which are still in the process of enlargement, as well as others that will be added progressively. He concludes by presenting which are the challenges for the future. At the same time, Professor Alarcon leaves full record of the philosophy that drives the project, which has no profit motive, but a full vocation of service to researchers of St. Thomas, in his wide projection and historical concretion.
